Hi
I think my IT consultant goofed up while filing my personal IT for 2008. I checked the CRA system, as well as talked with the CSR, they say that my file is not in the system.
Although he denies it, most probably he forgot to drop it off at the CRA office (I should have done it myself instead of relying on him!!).
So now, the question is:
What should I do? Do I file again with copies of all the receipts? Do I get penalized by CRA because I did not file my taxes on time?
I am expecting a refund for the FY 2008.
Cheers
Just to clarify, that by IT you mean Income Tax not Information Technology
As long as you're getting a refund, you will not get penalized. Ask your IT consultant to give you a another copy of your return and mail it yourself, or better still just drop it off at the CRA office.
