Fido,
Did you have to install this antenna on a mast or on the ground. My backyard faces S-E and has a huge tree on the S-E corner that is about 40 feet high in Brampton @ Dixie and Queen. Do you think this will work for me if I put on ground or do I have to mount in on mast?
Thanks
Bash
Fido, Sorry the backyard faces S-W and the tree is located S-W corner as well.
Thanks
Bash
I got the $30 antenna from Angel Elec. It gives me around 32 channels (located in Scarborough around 401, facing SW). Of these 32 channels 22 are digital - excellent quality while 10 are analog - quality is so-so. There are some duplicates between the digital and analog channels.
One thing to keep in mind is reduce the distance between the TV and the antenna. I tried disonnecting my dish and connected the antenna instead. The cable ran half way around the house into the basement and then to the TV, only managed to get 3 digital and 8 analog channels. For the time being, it's sitting inside the house by the window facing SW, and I get 20 Digital and 10 Analog channels

Good to know its working for others as well ........ Did I mention this that the $30/- antenna is returnable / exchangeable unlike the others , plus you can get a $5/- discount also if you mention Red Flag Deals since one of the owners of Angel Electronics has posted there as well .
BAsh ~ Though putting a mast should give you better results , but why don't you try initially at the ground level ......... We are on a 9th floor balcony ......... Trying changing the directions towards the CN Tower or the opposite .
Sudesingh - thanks for the length of cable tip ... I shall cut my extra cable ...... They also sell boosters for this purpose I guess ...

How do you get the cable inside then? With our indoor antenna when kept outside in terrace, gives great reception and clarity. But how to get the cable inside then? we are renting now and don't want to drill holes just for the antenna. is there a workaround? we tried passing it thru the sliding door however the door doesn't close then. any ideas?
Even I experienced this problem . As of now , I have created a hole in the ac window screen ..... how it fares in the winter is still to be checked out .

Good idea, however that's not an option for us right now. It's central air. maybe for next rentals!
We even thought of drilling a hole in some corner but the thing is wall facing the terrace is all glass. Anyways I guess we wld have to go to bell now!
