I am a canadian citizen and plan to work abroad (USA) for a Canadian company.
My wife will accompany me. I remember reading on Canadian immig. website that if a wife (on PR) accompanies her husband (citizen) abroad for a job with a Canadian company then wife does NOT lose her PR Status but is treated as living in Canada.
Though I can't seem to find this statement any longer on their website.
I plan to call them but just checking if anyone has experience with this.

yes, it seems that you can count a day outside of Canada as a residence day.
Say, you got married and lived in Canada for only 1 year. Then with your spouse, can you live in USA for over 2 years and then apply for citizenship - counting days outside as residence days (i.e instead of physically living in Canada for 3 years)
