If you have a broadband and a really fast internet connection, then yes you can view the Indian live channels for free. All you need to do is to connect your laptop/PC to your TV. Considering your Laptop/PC and TV have s-video connector, all you need is to buy s-video cable and Audio in/out. Now connect one end of s-video cable to your computer's s-video connector and another to your TV's.
For audio, you need RCS cable with one end connecting to your laptop's headphone socket and another to 'audio in' of TV's.
One more thing, you need to transfer to video from your computer to TV. If you have a laptop, you may find the combination of 'FN' key with 'CRT/LCD'. Press both and have output to TV.
Hope it helps.

if you have a VGA port on your tv then still better...because you can connect a normal VGA cable to the TV and it gets better resolution if you purchase a video card separately.. i know all the newer television sets have inbuilt VGA port
hope this helps

Couple of options you can do.
1) Look out for S Video output ( you need to have Both on laptop & also on TV ). The S video cable is cheap solution but i guess the picture clarity may not be that great ( especially if you have big plasma /LCD screen). Again as some said you need to buy RCS cable of one end connecting to headphone Jack & the other to TV Audio in outlet. Not all laptops have S Video but dont worry & looks for below options.
2)VGA output - This is available in almost all laptops (If you are not sure what this is , this is where you usually connect your flat screen monitor with VGA cable ). The problem here could be the VGA input may not be available in all TV's ( Depends on the model ) check out for VGA input on your TV & connect it to TV & again you should use seperate RCS cable for Audio out. If you don't have VGA input as i said before dont loose hope & proceed with option below
3)Assuming you have VGA output in your laptop ( I'll be surprised if anylaptop does not come up with one) you can buy something called "Scan converter" . Costs around 50-60$ ( but worth it & i will tell you why ). The scan converter works like this. A VGA cable is connected between Scan converter & the laptop. Now the scan convertor has several outputs including S Video, Composite cable & HDMI ( All the cables comes with the scan convertor ) Depending on what you have on your TV you can connectone of them. The clarity is awesome becuase it takes care of resolution. You can also get wireless. I remember Kworld & grand tech makes such devices.
4) If you dont have VGA out on your laptop i guess you will definetly have USB option, you can get USB to Svideo out but these devices do not work as expected. I personally did not try them but heard lot of bad things.
5) Finally if you dont even have USB, i would suggest you to buy a new laptop with all of the options above
Thanks,
Sfodesi
