I do not seem to have any of the listed items.
First time when we landed (Dece 2007) we stayed with a friend for about 2 weeks. During that period I was able to open a Bank Account, apply for Health Card and SIN.
Last August Children moved here for their education in Universities and now we are visiting them and staying with them at a place which is rented by them.
This time when we entered canada our passports have been date stamped. I do not know if they will stamp them again while leaving. Otherwise the passport could be used as a proof.
We (I and my wife) will be leaving again Canada towards the end of July where I am employed and intend to move finally by Sept. 2010. Includin this trip I will have a claim on about 63 days of physical stay in Canada so far and the reminder will be covered between Sept 2010 and Dec 2012.

Yes I can make up for these 2 months when I return in Sept 2010. I will have a total of about 28 months until the 5 year mark. But I do not want to lose these two months as well. As I mentioned earlier that this time our Passports have been stamped upon arrival. What I am looking for some proof of stay at least foe this time. I can forget abou the 2 weeks in Dec 2007. At least the current 45 days can be accounted for. I have bought a laptop and we are also buying some groceries using credit card. I have also applied for a credit card during this trip.
Please advice how can I cover these current 45 days. Should I use the credit card on the day of our departure from Canada to prove that I was stiil here? Also what happens with my wife? Both of us need to prove our stay. Should she also use the credit card on the day of departure?
I was looking into the application form for the renewal of PR Card and there I did not see that they are asking for the proof of your stay in the form of Utility bills, etc. (I may be wrong). I just saw that you have to fill in the dates.
Seems to be very cumbersome procedure.
Hi Gabs,
Passport stamps are proof enough, even if you don't get stamped while leaving Canada but you are being stamped at your home country while incoming, I mean won't you get stamped in US when you leave Canada and re-enter US?
Just like you we also got our PR in 2007 and still don't live in Canada (but in our case my hubby works for a Canadian company so its not an issue) but we have been keeping records of all our Canada stays via passport, when we come back to South America (where we currently live) the passport is stamped for home coming too. Which I'm sure is valid enough. We have never kept any other records apart from passport dates.
Hope it helps.

On another note, your Airline tickets can be proof too, not the itinerary but the real ticket stub or your e-ticket's copy.

My kids who are at the Universities here will qualify for their citizenship before the 5 year mark. What documents/papers they should be keeping handy for the citizenship application? It will be good if they know about it in advance and do it rather than knowing at a later date.
