I have been in options and my take is this.
While it's true that you can make money you can also loose money. The claim that it's better than stocks and mutual funds is wrong. In stocks there is a risk.In options there is high risk.
In stocks as well as mutual funds, you pay 100% of money, and then you forget about it, In options however there is an expiry, and you may loose all your money .
The spreads, and other strategies do work well sometimes. however the problem is at one point one may become over confidendt and over leaverage himself.
For those who have full time job and little money to risk, it's fine if someone is ready to guide you otherwise it's a headache.
