I've a very limited idea of Canadian home market and hence this question. In States I've seen a lot of gated communities built by famous builders, I'm sure we have the same in Canada too but is there a site which can help see projects of gated communities coming up area, state wise? I mean is there a way we can see for e.g for any upcoming homes by builders in ajax, markham etc?

Once you know the name of builder - you probably can find their website & dig there also.

Thanks for the links...I'll check them soon, one more question though, I've heard a friend from Canada quoting that these homes are on lease and not on freehold property, is that a hindrance? Do people go for such homes even if the land is leased?
