After arrive I got the job within two week of search.

I would like to Thank you all CD’s for helping me with their ideas

I have followed social networking advice from CD’s and get in touch with HR person threw facebook and linkedin.

Contact them via e-mail send my profile and explain them my situation

I had three interviews since I arrive on August 3, 2009.
2 full time position and one for part time 6 month contract.

I have chose to go with 6 month contract since all these ppl knew that I just move and I can take any salary so I choose to go with sort term contract so I have chance to go for suitable position in future.

ONCE AGAIN, I would like to thanks everyone on this forum
NOTE: don’t discourage by negative feedback, have faith , courage and patience – u will get what u want -

How do I start whole process? - I am moving to Brampton at first
Where do I start my job search?
How do I start looking for job (online, placement agency, direct approach etc..) – is there any good effective websites ?
Are there any places or group of forum for job search?
I have car and I know Toronto enough to travel around different places.
Any feedback will be appreciate

Hi,
Welcome to Toronto / GTA. Since I live away from the GTA I am unable to meet you in person. But hopefully once I get funding for a SAP course to be done in Mississauga, I can be more in contact with you.
I donot know your specific needs but here it goes in general.
1. Apply to all jobs in workopolis, job bank, Monster etc..
The key is to call the company in a couple of days and follow up.
2. make a list of all companies in Toronto that hire your skill set and cold call them and find info.. Remember that each rejection is a step closer to acceptance.
3. try to do some labour job / cash job to suppliment your income.
4. Visit the food bank and tell them your situation (that you came to Canada for a better future and how the country cheated you) and they normally give you provisions so that you can conserve cash.
5. The key is networking. try to network as much as possible. As 'Sville" has mentioned a similar incident, try to have your business card / resume and try to give it to as many people you meet. may be some one knows some one who can give you a job (not my idea but a employment counsellor's idea).
6. Say for example that your dream job is Rogers. Try to get into a labour job there and then find out if internally they can promote you in your line

Hope this helps.

Peace by TK

Loser advise.....

Agreed. TK has always been a demoralizing chatter on this forum. Such a pity. You win some. You loose some.
