Hi to all,
my mother is here on her visit visa for 6 months ending jan 7th 2009. I want to apply for extension so that she can stay with us for a longer period of time.
1.When should i apply for extension?
2. Should i submit the same docs which i submitted during visit visa ? pls let me know the docs to submit?
3. in the appln form they have asked a reason for extension? what shd i say?
Moreover i have applied for her PR in June 2008 and is this going to effect her extension?
pls reply and thank you.
For application and guidance follow the link:

1. CIC says apply three months before. Most of the people apply two months before. Some apply one month before to take advantage that they get extra time to stay in status. However, your application should reach CIC before the expiry of the date to avoid problems.
2. It is explained in the guide.
3. Normally, they extend because that facility is in the system and not because you said a particular reason. Any reson is okay as long as it is meaningful and sensible. If you say a medical reason, it would be a good idea to substantiate it if necessary.
PR file will not effect her extension.
Thanks for the advice.
Can you state any valid reason. since she got her visitor visa after being rejected for atleast 4 times. we even had to give the MP'S Letter which stated that she is here only for a month to attend her grand daughters birthday and for summer.
What would be the best reason for extension?
if possible please reply.
thanks again.

She can say " I would like to spend some more time with my son".
