Hi Guys,
A very intearsting way this thread moves. I find many desi brothers have very hot desire to come back but are seeing each other as who is going to make first move.
Some body list canada short comings
- the weather
- the social life will not be like it was in India.
First:: WEATHER.
I guess this weather condition of Vancoure is better than chilling cold of tpronto. I work here in delhi as IT professional for past 3-4 years. The weather from May to July is like hell here. Forget about heat. It is dusty winds from Rajestan that hovers around on sky. No air movement, no sun. only heat ,dust, difficult to breath air. I simply feel sick of this.
U will find beautiful building all over gurgaon. 25-30 story all glass, shopping malls just like in States. But simple basic nesscity things like power/water are not availble. Even inverters fails. What to do with these beautful building/houses if even basic nessacity of life is not availble. U guys take these things for granted in canada.
Second::the social life will not be like it was in India.
I am not sure about other profesions. But once in IT feild. U have to work like dogs. from 9 am to 9 pm in the night. Or even if work is not thier u have to physically present in the company late evening. I have seen my fellow workers social life is reduced to sending email /mobile calls. U just cannot think of going 5-6 clock in the evening to spend time with family/freinds . Even on weekands time to time u have to be present in the office. I wonder what kind of social life u are looking ahead in India.
Money here is only in IT feild that too by indian standards. Persons in other feilds should definatly thanks thier stars that they have left India for good.

some of the desis r applying n few hv even startd to do the reverse trend

comments from those few desis who have started reverse migration n are currently in India are most valuable at this point in time

Bumbaiya Bhai and other desies,
Situation here in India to my mind is not very encouraging. All these talks of FEEL GOOD INDIA seems to be just a political gimmick. While you see all latest cars on Delhi roads, lots of latest malls coming up, And now the first line of METRO from Shahdara to Rohini already functional with similar line functional in Hyaderabad, you may feel at first sight the thigs are moving ahead. But let me tell you the experience of the some of the Desies who came back to India and within few months realized their mistake. I see most of them just siting at home and irritating their felow relatives. The relatives no more feel proud of them. The returned desies unable to understand why they can;t really go and work in Indiaa establishments. There may be exceptions but majority will agree with me.
I give example of one of my such firends who came back from US. He was a doctor. He was a honest, straight forward typical US Desi as majority of you will be like. Anybody could notice him as a misfit for Indian business environment (not to be quoted). He was cancer specialist. He went to all major hospitals like apollo and others. What he was told to do was nothing less than a serious crime to humanity. He simply stopped applying to hospitals and started trying to get back to US. He was lucky to return back after spending a horrorful three months here in India. And it was in New Delhi, the capital of India.
Political scene is even worse than what you might have left when you immigrated to Canada. And lt me tell you Miracles are not routine incidents.
I hope this feedback will be useful to all.
MY SUGGESTION:
Earn money in Canada. Spend a part of that on Indian ventures - business to social. Keep in touch with your contacts in India. Guide them, counsel them, if possible help them. If you can do some business with India do it even if it does not pay you. Keep yourself updated with Indian situation (an Australian lady was recently killed by a poor Taxi driver near the airport on arrival)(a denmark tourist lost his passport and hid in the dust bin out of fear , of the airport was nearly dead).
Vijeshbhai,
To hell with relatives not feeling proud of you ! I find that really irritating and disgusting.
