My spouse, my 7 year old son and myself plan to land in Toronto during Oct 04.
We would like to go for an independent temporary accommodation for one month in AN AREA from where we can complete our basic formalities easily (SIN card, Permanent Residence Card, Driving Licence, Registration at HRDC, Bank Account opening, Health Insurance,etc.) and carry out our search for house on rent / suitable job. We plan to finalize such a temporary accommodation at economical rates from here (Muscat) so that we do not waste time last minute and things can be more smooth / predictable.
Can anybody suggest such a locality/ area so that our search thru the classifieds is focused?

Thank you very much Sir! Despite good deal of search I am not able to make out how various options given at the above link could help me in getting temporary accommodation in my initial settlement phase. A house with proximity to all govt offices, banks, insurance etc. offices that I will have to deal with and with an easy access to other localities where I and my spouse could search for job as well as search for a good house on rent.
Is there any specific reference?

All Govt Offices? Which offices?
Banks? Which banks?
Insurance? Why you need to stay near Insurance?

It will not be easy for anybody to answer things on these questions. Toronto and Surroundings are almost 50 Lakhs and so in each and every corner you will see what you asked for. So you can choose any location.

On the classified listings there are few professional people posted their serives for initial accomodation. You can take their services if you find it suitable.

Hi ,
I have been following up this site for quite a few days and i must congratulate all of you in maintaining such a gr8 site.
I am planning to move to Canada next week for a short term assignment (6mnt)and am lookin out for information for temp acco and food.
wanted to know
1. Are the rented apartments here are furnished( Gas stove, fridge,Cot-Bedding etc) or plain empty ones?
2. What is the avg rent aroung Missisuaga? I hope there is no concept of huge deposit as we have in Mumbai.
3.Are there enough vegetarian restaurents in around Missisuaga?
4. I'll check in the driving posts, but still is commuting by public transport easier and cheaper than geting a car?
5. How easy is to rent/buy a car for a few months.
