I went on "charcha". after a long time, and am surprised that the debate on real estate is yet to end. As usual, rahul singh, who has the distinction of bring an "expert" on real estate, continues his tirade on the "evils of buying a house. He has been forecasting doomsday for a long time, and this time both the Mayans and Nostradamus are clearly upset, simply because they have competition.

Having said that, why buying a house has to do with "profits", "appreciation", & "loss of house values"? Rahul seems to be obsessed with profit motive, losses, "wrong timing", the real estate "bubble" (his most favorite term), and of course the impending doom.

Why can't he just see buying a home (not a house) as simply a matter of personal choice, security, and satisfaction?

Clearly Rahul is obsessed with his ideas, and wants the whole world to agree with him. Unfortunately the world around him is too smart to say "yeah you are right" and follow his "scholarly" advice.

I could not stop myself to say your reply was very practical reply...

People should look at their own situation along with the RE market trends.. no just the RE agent to buy or not.

Surprised!

I am yet to see any input from Real Estate Agents?

I’m sure there are plenty of them on this forum, lets c what they have to say about it.

Rahul, why you're adament on putting the whole blame on RE Agent? Where does the personal responsiblity for the buyer come from?

Again, in this technological savvy age, the whole onus is on the buyer and not the RE Agent. Shrugging off one's own responsiblity over someone else is highly dangerous for one's own self and future.

Another example. There are about 500 stores in a mall, and each one says their products are the best, covered with warranty, and at 50% discount. Would you just buy even though your pocket doesn't allow? I know many do it on the credit. But at the end of the day, is'nt it the buyer who is responsible to pay off the credit, or is it the store to blame that showed you the dream?

Note: I am not a RE Agent. As much as I also despise some of them, I put 100% blame on the buyers to not look into their own finances and take others' word for their purchase.
