My friend has landed about a month back and returned to the USA. His PR card did not arrive yet. His family could not accompany because his child had some health issue at that time.
Now his wife and child would like to land. She doesn't drive. So they would like to land by walking across the Rainbow Bridge. My friend is unable to accompany them as his PR card is not yet ready and he cann't enter Canada without it.
By perusing the earlier msgs, I realize that walking across the Rainbow Bridge is allowed. My questions are:
1) Do they allow Landing by walkers? I don't see any logical problem but there may be some technicality. I would like your help in ruling that out.
2) After landing, they would like to turn around (imemdiately) and head back to the USA by crossing the bridge in the other direction. Do you see any problem with this? Can walkers take a U-Turn on the bridge after coming out of Canada immigration office?
These questions may sound stupid but as I myself have not walked across the Rainbow bridge, I would appreciate your experiences/thoughts/advice.
Thanks much,
Tella Pilli
Here is the link for Niagra falls Bridge Commission ... they are prescribing a fee of 50 cents for pedestrian crossing . So my guess would be that they allow pedisitrians on Rainbow bridge.

Also your friend can apply for a visa for returning immigrants. I guess it costs $ 50 to get it ... for more detail call the number where you inquire for your PR card or ask your friend to contact the Canadian mission close to his place.
