If we remove all the religious pictures, there are only 8 photographs for picture of the day including 4 which were added today (some uploaded are not displaying correctly, so I removed them).

Sorry, could not resist myself to write about it:
I have 100s of photos (my original work) to upload, but CD is having chronic problem with upload feature of photos. 70% of the time I get error message while uploading the photo. I have reported this to GG number of times but it seems there is no fix for this. Once this problem is fixed I can assure that CD will not have shortage of quality photos.
And as a side note, it is better to have a good picture for few days on the website rather than changing it to a religious picture every day.

I tried to upload one but it failed. I then resized the image with Irfanview http://www.irfanview.ca/ to 325 x 200 pixels and uploaded and it worked. There is some problem with the script on CD when trying to resize the image and it has tough time resizing some pictures. I have let GG know.
I have removed all the religious pictures. Right now there is no option for a picture to remain as picture of day for several days. Picture of day will be empty(that portion of the page will be black) if there are no pictures to be displayed.

No, it was just someone's picture. I prefer to celebrate Diwali with family 
I made some changes to the Pictures upload script and it should work well now. I am not completely done yet, but please use it and let me know if you face any difficulty.
