Any body can share there experience for getting power of attorney for Real Estate purposes done at Indian consulate in Toronto , could it be on plain paper unlike India where it has to be on stamp paper?

Hi,
Type it out on plain paper.
DO NOT SIGN IT.
Run some photocopies (I think 2 should be enough)
Go to the consulate with these documents, your passport and some passport sized photos. Carry a good quality glue stick with you.
Now memory is hazy, but what will happen is that you'll sign the original PoA and over the photograph in front of the consular officer, who'll then attest it for you.
It'll take half a day - best go early morning. It's quite close to the underground station so you can take the train.
