You find alternatives if you look for them ... Have the patty fried and not grilled for the burger ... Pizza Pizza cheese is w/o renet ... depends how compromosing you are ...
I once got chicken stir fried vegetable rice w/o the chicken ... upon the waiter's recommendation ... It was veg fried rice with plenty of stir fired vegtables thrown in ....
I could not have taken a chicken / beef dish . At another time last year , I recall I came back hungry .

In lard??? I wonder how many restaurants use canola oil v/s lard to fry something. Even fries are not vegetarian if lard is used to fry them. Same with desserts that use lard.

Agree. I have done it couple of times. Get fajitas/quesdillas without chicken
