$ 500 / mnth ...that is 3.12 $ / hr ...Pls do not try to exploit well educated new immigrants ..Try to guide them in better ways .. Even at Subway they will make 8 $ ..This kind of offers might bring their morale down .
If you are looking for a baby sitter , pls post in classifieds .

You have wasted enough time instead you should have joined co-op and worked voluntarily and by this time you would have got canadian reference and experience in hand.

This is why I always tell people not to leave their job. This is the post, all new immigrants should take role model as and be prepared for the worst.

I am here for the past 10 years and this is what I understand about the system here.

Well, you worked hard to climb the corporate ladder with lots of management experience. But when you move to a new place, it is unfortunate but true that you need to start all over again. Management positions are hard to come and getting one is very tough due to various reasons one can imagine.

You need to have some core competency to survive in Canada. When I came here, I had the same problem. But my core competency is maintenance engineering which I am damn good at. I was let go two times before but I had no problem getting a job due to my core competency. My point is if you started as a programmer or a welder for example, be a very good programmer or a welder to prove yourself. I am not sure management position is considered a core competency.

If you don't have any core competency, then you need to start taking courses or some coop programmes as others suggested. So don't get hung up on this management experience thing and keep complaining that no one recognising it rather deal with it. You can keep applying from whereever you are without leaving your current position, but the probability of you getting that job is, well I leave it to you to figure it out.

You need to upgarde youself. Do some course in Finance, compensation or project mgt.

This way you will find it easier to enter the mainstream.

As for your wife, get her transcripts certified and go to an adult education centre to do the req'd upgradation courses in order to teach in Canada

Most important - PRAY... GOD LISTENS and ANSWERS.... IN HIS TIME

Thank you
