Hi all,

I am landing in Mid April 2010. Please advice on monthly expenses incurred in calgary if I live in a shared accomodation(decent). Include all expenses like food, utilities, internet, miscellaneous expenses etc.

My calculation tells me the following: for a single person living in SW/NW or near downtown in a reasonably decent shared accomodation, the expenses would be as follows:

1)rent : 700
2)utilities + internet: 150
3)grocery: 250
4)entertainment:200
5)commuting(w/o car):200
6) miscellaneous: 200

Total: $1700.

Is this estimate ok or .................?????

Regards,

Sachin Bapat

1700$ will be more than enough if you are alone.

You can reduce rent by sharing room

700 for shared accomodation is rather high. Or is it ? I thought that $700 would get you a nice apt in Calgary.
