Toyota has always been known for reliability. But I think it is good will on the part of the company who has issued such a big recall. But three different recalls in a span of 2 weeeks is too big to digest.
It all depends how you take it. But I just bought a new car and I am very happy that it was not a Toyota, otherwise the resale value would have gone down the dumps from the very first day.
The resale value has not dropped much ?

This is all a media game - they want to target the Japenese cars.
Yes they have problems but their overall quality is far far superior than anything else.
American cars are piece of junk.
You are right, lot of people feel the way.
But new Ford Taurus and Edge are good car. German automakers are coming back with better reliability and hi-tech feature to kick Japanese luxury brands.

It is all a scam by the US government to promote its own auto industry. They started with Toyota and went on to Honda. They have not touched Hyundai yet.
Now Brazil is targeting VW.
The second scam started now is against maintenance of US commercial aircrafts in foreign shores for cheaper costs. They have now started to blame poor mainentance for their crashes than the pilot errors.
They have also started backlash against IT companies and today Obama has painted outsourcers as tax evaders.
I do hope this doesnot get extended to other sectors in order to protect local jobs and not use terms like Globalization.
I'll buy a Toyota, Honda or any Japanese car with eyes closed and not be hood winked by this conspiracy.
