This is an interesting article which deals with use of internet to express opinion and use of twitter to instantly provide the correct news/message.
However, I have my own doubts about the effectiveness of internet in articulating views.
There is one joker Haroon Siddiqi who writes for Toronto Star. Many of his articles are misleading and gives distorted views about the issues. He is particularly anti India. Whenever I have found his article which provides half truth, I have commented in the Star. I observe that his articles, many a times provoke readers to write contadicting his views, The star has never bothered to censor him and he continues dishing garbage.
Anyway, I found that the article referred above might be interest to CDs and hence this post.

You are right my friend. Haroon Siddique is a biased person and anti India. I think he belongs to our great neighbour Pakistan.
Toronto Star is making a mistake by promoting him.

If Haroon belongs to India then he is one of those so called Indians who feel emotionally close to Pakistan.

I have read Haroon's articles for many years now. He is from Hyderabad, India.
The one thing that makes him particularly appealing to a small section of society is t his views that are blatantly anti-American, He believes fervently that the Islamic society (anywhere in the world) has been wronged, and that the west needs to be punished, for its what he considers, " wrong doings"
I remember his rants in the star about the treatment of Islamic terrorists in the west, and how their personal rights were violated. He has written hundreds of columns about how the west was responsible for terrorism, out of it`s intolerance for the principles of Islam.
I certainly understand his zeal to defend Islam - he is a fundamentalist in his thoughts about religion. That being said, I found his stories very biased. While deriding the west for it`s treatment of Islam and Muslim terrorists, he has rarely condemned terrorism per se.
He believes that terrorism, which raises it's ugly head every other day - is a result of how Muslims are treated by the west. To showcase his case he cites Israel, the Guantanamo prison, the secrets prisons in Europe (during the Bush era), water-boarding, and military tribunals, as the (justifiable) causes for the "anger".
He conveniently forgets the agony, pain, death and destruction, caused by the extremists - be it in India or any other part of the world. He is plain biased and prejudiced, and has a great platform to air his views - in TORONTO STAR.

Toronto Star and Internet are two diff entities. Star can do what it wants as its a private outfit. They can bash Hindus and make that guy as the editor. Its their call. Internet is free for all to post their views unless moderated (ahem...). There are bloggers who push their norrow views on others. If others believe, then that's their problem.
I still remember when Donal Trump called in at a Larry King show during one of the crisis Trump was facing. Larry mentioned that "the bloggers are saying so & so...". Donny shot back saying that "bloggers can say what they what, I dont care".
