I have two issues to discuss.

1. Help in filing 2009 tax returns. I am the only one who works in the family. My wife got EI insurance. My daughter was born last year. My wife is still paying her education loans. I want to get some reimbursement on home renovation tax credit. No RRSP or RESP.

2. I am going to register a company. (Trying to set up a business as a contractor. ) I need help on if I can hire my wife as an assisstant for next few months. I have several questions. First, Can I hire my spouse as my employee? If so, what type and amount of taxes will I and she pay to the government? How can I declare my car as business car? part of my home as my business place and hence the mortgage, electricity and other bills to be declared as business expenses. Will my wife be eligible for EI when she leaves the job after let's say 6 months ? Any tax saving tips for 2010 tax filing.

Please send me a PM about how much will it cost me for consultation.

Thanks

Your spouse can work for your company , but you cannot deduct EI from your relatives .

Accountant will be able to guide you better .

Good luck .

Hi Guys,
I have been using below accountant and my personal experience is very good. Very professional service with good personal advice. I live in Markham and he is in Mississauga. But for the service, I guess it is worth it.
