Does anyone know what level of the Ontario driving license a UAE-issued license is equal to?

I had one year old licence from Dubai and they gave me one year driving experience which qualified me for a G1 road test. So you can try to get a G2 road test which will give you a G licence.

Actually the guy at the licensing counter was willing to give me 2 years driving experience becuase i had an "old" Indian driving licence. Unfortunately the Indian licence did not have a date of issue .... though he could make out the licence was very old !!!

Can you please advice me how I can get my driving licence in Ontario, Canada ( Hamilton / St Catherine area). I live in Middle East since 2001 holding driving licence of Oman, Kuwait and Qatar also has valid Indian Driving Licence also. Senior CD's from Middle East can throw some light pls.

Hi,

If you show more than two years of driving experience, then you do not have to wait for one year before appearing for G2 Exit test (after getting your G2).

In any case, you have to go for a written test for getting your G1 licence and then go for a road test to get your G2 licence.

If you get a letter from the relevant UAE authority certifying your driving experience in Dubai that will help.
