Please help....My mom has a multiple entry visa ( valid for 2 years) to Canada and she would be finishing her initial 6 mths. of stay in Canada as stamped at the port of entry soon. She still has 1.5 yrs of visa left. Now my question is
1. If she visits the US just before her initial 6 mths finish, does she need a fresh visa/stamp at the port of entry which can allow her to stay for a longer period in Canada? Will they grant that easily and how many mths is it normally?
2. Does extending your stay in Canada affect future visa requests to CaNADA?
3. Another option is to extend from within Canada. In that case is a medical test mandatory?
Thanks in advance for your responses.

They DO..... 30 days before the expiry of the first SIX months.. 60 days if you use snail mail.

Applications should be made at least one month before your intended departure date.
Note: If you are mailing your application, allow up to eight weeks for it to be received as mail services can vary.
What requirements must I meet for a temporary resident visa?
You must show the officer that you meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and Regulations and that you will be in Canada for a temporary stay. You must also:
* satisfy an officer that you will leave Canada
* show that you have enough money to maintain yourself and your family members in Canada and to return home;
* not intend to work or study in Canada unless authorized to do so;
* be law abiding and have no record of criminal activity (you may be asked to provide a Police Clearance Certificate);
* not be a risk to the security of Canada;
* produce any additional documents requested by the officer to establish your admissibility;
* be in good health (complete a medical examination, if required).

2. Does extending your stay in Canada affect future visa requests to CaNADA?
Normally NO. Then again, it depends on the Officer who decides to allow or not.

If it was not asked for initially, then you do not need it. But they retain their rights to ask for one when ever they feel.
