Just got a little worried after I posted my name and address details over the internet on a website doing "home price evaluation"
Does an one on this platform has any experience good or bad kindly please share your experiences.

It will be prudent not to go to the net for such FREE evaluations etc., because you do not know who you are encountering at the other end and to what use they put this information to. They are fishing for information and they pass this on to other prospective RE Agents and they will contact you for the sale of your property, because they think that you do. All of the details that you have provided are now in the open, you must read their privacy statement or copy and paste and retain the same for future, in case they abuse it.

See what transpires with this particular web site that you got tangled up with and keep a close eye on YOUR personal details that you have provided to them.

Also go and obtain a report on your Credit from the three of the Agencies, which is currently FREE. Then, monitor it from time to time if you are not comfortable with this Assessment that you currently doubtful about. Just to see if there is any misuse.

Go for the Free version first. If you find it NOT upto your spec., then pay and get the next best. You don't loose any points.

At the most they can sell your contact information and other companies could call you. Also you may win few million dollars lottery for which you have to send a few thousand dollars to process.

If you have listed your phone number with address in telephone directory, all that information is public anyway. There are other sources too like if you filled any form to win a free vacation, registered on any site with your address, resumes, etc.

If that is restricted to that what you mentioned it gives me some relief, however I was thinking on lines of identity theft where they obtain a second mortgage on our house kind of , I am not too clear on how they do it .

Ask ur realtor to give u a sales history report for ur neighbour hood..

As him to include 1 year of data and atleast 2 kms radius..

U can do ur own evaluation.
