Hi All,
Today I went online to check status of my parents application on CIC website and i saw It says \"IN Process\".
I clicked on the \"IN Process\" status and further it shows that we received your application to sponsor \"XYZ\" on OCT 9,2008 and started processing your application on April 16,2010.
Could someone pls explain what this exactly means and what should I expect next with respect to timeline for further processing?

The Canadian Immigration, from Canada (Mississauga Center) passes on the files to NEW DELHI, Electronically. A record of it is made and this is also made available to you for your information.
Then they follow the routine procedures of checking the dependents out. Some of this checking is handed over to different departments within. Each one completes their part and then, an officer working there will respond back to your Parents. All of this once again is made available to you through the Electronic process of information sharing, just to keep track of its (files) movements.
All of the people who are sponsoring their Parents and relatives have jointly provided their information here, in a thread*, and have kept pace with the people here and have a lot of information since the August of 2007. They have shared their information with you. You can make a table and fill in the columns and see how well the system is functioning for each one of them. You can put yourself on the top. As your name goes down the list, you will know the time it takes to get out of the list.
If the list says twenty Eight Months to exit, then it is the time taken currently to complete the whole process. Please read all of the letters and get to know the complete details and what occurs in each department as stated by the poster. Try and avoid all of he delays. Get on top of it.
