Hi there
I think this is the right place to get the right answer. I am living in toronto. I had a car I got three parking ticket since last year. All of them applyed for trail. Last week I sold my car to a person he might be ship this car to his back home country. Thats why I didnt do safety and emission test for him. I decided I will not renew my existing licence plate anymore. SO my question is if I dont renew my existing licence plate do I need to settle/pay the parking tickets? I have another car. When I go to renew my new licence plate in that time do I have to pay all parking tickets. I am confused about this issue.
If any friends has idea please share with me. Your openion will apprecatable
Thanks
Hi Tanna,
Just remember fines will be always there in your name under the detached plate number. unless the court rules out not guilty. You can continue renewing the existing plate on your other car without paying these tickets.
But once you buy a new car and try attaching any plates (old/new) or shift new plates to another car or any such transaction you will have to pay them.
The tickets wont appear on the ministry systems till it is in court.
If you have announced guilty then you would have to pay at the court or if you choose to ignore it will come up to the ministry systems as Double the price.
Shriya.
