We must protest it!
Here's my take on it. There's nothing said by the doll that breaks the law. So protest is not going to take it off the market. On ther other hand, if there is a lot of protest it will only serve to make it more popular.

the only thing we can do about this company is to sue it. it just can't pick up any community and defame it by using trash and degradatory language. is there any patel here? this doll will be bought by many ignorant and immature children. when any young child with a patel surname will be harassed by its classmates then we will understand the impact of such a thing. somthings just can't be tolerated or ignored.

I would love to sue them. What I'm saying is there is no legal premise to actually do it in this case. It is not illegal to sell racist material in America and there's material available in bookstores and on the web that is far more racist and dangerous.
The only thing that can be done is to write them letters or protest outside the company or boycott sites that sell the doll. Considering the kind of stuff this company makes, I would bet all my money that the only thing these protests will do is popularise the doll.

Aalok, I agree that this can not be tolerated. At the same time it is very difficult to do sue them on legal bases. I agree with BL in that sense.
Only thing we can do is protest it - how I don't know yet. I guess there is something "Hindu Watch-dog" in America which does this.
While ago - there was a toilet pan designed by one company with "Ganesh" and "Laxmi". It was well protested by that group and the manufacturer had to withdrawn it from market.
At the same time Hindus should not become hindu vesion of fanatic people who gets irritated every now and them with small things.
Tolerance is part of our culture and thats why even after so many attacks we have kept our religion alive - so it is best thing to ignore it.

we have always been tolerant people and that's our special trait and its something that we are proud of, but because of that such insulting products come out often in the market. shoes with god's faces, toilets, dolls, mahatma gandhi bashing in cheap magazines like Maxim, same thing on MTV. the hindu watch dog maybe a fanatic organization sometimes but its only for the good of us. what would a vegetarian do when he is given meat to eat in restaurents with total disregard to our beliefs. we individually cannot do anything but if we have groups like these we can teach them a lesson that we also have a right and cannot be treated anyway.i may be a bit extreme but that's just what i think. ignoring will only prolong the problem.
