Dear all,

i m going to apply for a travel document as i am not having my pr card right now.
i m applying second time for the travel doc, First in Dec 2008 i got the travel doc but due to recession at that time i didn't use that.

Now in Travel document application form there is a column asking whether u have applied for Travel doc if yes then give the details abt that.

Here what info i have to furnish the travel doc dates or the reason why i didn't use that.

if it is reason of not using what kind of reason i should provide.

thanks & regards

Answer Question # 13 d as clearly as possible.

Answer # 14 with your employment details, providing all of the details there in, fully.

Residency obligation : you should have ample time left to qualify for the 730 days.

See Question #18 and determine if it will be helpful....

Pay the fees again and also sign the application. Wait for the Immigration Officer's response. It will generally be in your favour. If there are any doubts and any more information is required then, they will contact you. Fees are $50.00

You can always state that there were other commitments that needed your presence in India for the extended period of time. If you have any good ones then state them. If not..... then......

Freddie.

i got the travel document second time.as i am going on travel document and i have to re-apply for pr card after reaching there.
1.is the principal applicant has any role while applying for my pard?
2. if my husband also plans to go with me for 15 days, is there any chance of getting the pr card in 10 days of time by requesting the cic people or is there any speedy process to get it faster ?

3. as this is my second landing and if procipal applicant is not accompanying me then how much fund to carry? is CAD 8000 enough for single person?

YES, Upon landing you can re-apply for the PR card. They will provide with all of the details at the P.O.E. at landing.

1) I am sure you have past the Principal Applicant stage and can enter safely, because you do have a PRTD, a travel document that is provided to you after establishing yourselves, earlier.

2) Currently the 'first issue' of a PR Card takes about 33-35 days, holidays entering the picture might drag it a bit longer. Currently I do not know about any speedy process, but you can contact the Immigrant Help Centers, (One in Burnhamthorpe Road being the nearest,) might give you some idea as to its feasibility. A trip to their place is well worth it. Some times people have paid an extra $50 to obtain the same for travel requirements.

3) You have no problems to enter and stay, It will be of immense help to you if you can get a colour copy of his PR card on a Photocopy paper, both sides on one sheet, and bring it along, and have it on person just in case, if it hampers your entry. Yes the funds you are carrying is O.K., if that is what you want to spend or have it on you for your personal needs. Are you comfortable carrying such a large amount of cash? Does not matter, but DECLARE ALL OF WHAT YOU CARRY. That is a must.

Welcome back.

Freddie.

Dear freddie

in point no 2 i was talking about my husband's pr card as both of us doesn't have it.so i cann't have the photocopy of his pr card. we landed on 19 oct 2007,applied for sin,pr card and came back to india on 30 oct 2007.
later we got a letter from cic stating our photo size problem and asked us to come in person to apply for pr card.

now my question is can we ask someone to go to immigration help center on our behalf and get the info or only we can do this?
we have got the travel visa valid till 30th aug 2010 and if my husband doesn't get his pr in 10-15 days(can't take leave more than that) then it will require his next visit to just pick it up later but before 30 aug, after 30 aug they will not even issue the travel doc b'coz residency timelimit will expire.

actually we r planning the way like only i,ll maintain my pr card status(stay there for 2 years) ,my husband only wants the pr card so he can visit inbetween.

2 years will be enough time to decide whether to settle there or come back,if decide to settle then sponsor him later etc....

is there any way that my husband can get his pr card before 30 aug and without one more visit to canada?

please advice

I understand that you are the only one wanting to return and trying to settle down and then your Husband will follow or has time till 30th of Aug, to hang in there with you and see you settle down. I do know now that he also does have a PR status, BUT not the Card. But you both are free to come anytime with a Travel document as you have established your PR Status here.

You landed here on 30th Oct 2007. You have time till 29th October 2012 to get "two years, out of the Five years" needed to renew your PR Card. Then an additional year to comply with the Citizenship requirements. After that you can sponsor your Husband any time or he can ride on your coat tails, or the 'Palloo'

For PR Cards, they will need a Photo of yourselves in a digital format and compatible with their system. For this they will need your presence here. They do not accept Photographs taken elsewhere. Ask the Immigration Officer at the P.O.E. for all of the details.

Since you are the only one returning you have ample time to get it rectified and get an issuance of a PR Card from them. It will come to an address that you can provide to them after landing and settling down. At the P.O.E., if you have an address to give them, then do so. IF NOT, then tell them that you will inform them later after settling down that you will provide them with an address. Get the details from them as to where you can send your address details to, and within how many days.

Your Husband will have to obtain his PR card by returning here and getting his photographs taken, then applying for it here. He will have to undergo the same process that you will be following after landing here. But he can give the same address as yours and you can hang on to the PR Card when it arrives. He only need to be present here for the photographs, not for the collecting.

So you know that he gets his card too and you will have it with you.

Welcome back to Canada.

Freddie.

Dear freddie

thanks a lot for ur detailed reply.
but in my previous post http://www.canadiandesi.com/read.php?TID=24451&page=1#143771 pratickm and jonav clearly mentioned that u need to be physically present to collect the card.
My only concern is to know abt the card collection process for second time applicants.is it delivered on the given address or to collect personally ?

please confirm if someone has gone through the same process.

regards
