Hi friends,
Reading this article in paper today has disturbed me
CANADA to kill 220000, seal in a span of 5 years in a planned project..........
Is there no "Body"" or Authority" in the world who can initiate any actions against Nations who adapt to such mass scale barbaric acts?

Unfortunately, its not just seals. What about chickens or other meats? I think the worst invention of the century has been industrialization of butcher factories.

I have the same objections against seal hunting as other people opposing them. The main issue is the way they are killed. But that is my viewpoint, perhaps as a vegetarian.

However, for natives, that is the way of life since centuries. It is a source of food to them, and they can sell the fur and make living. So it would be very difficult for me to argue against this and ask them to change their way of living just because it does not agree with my line of thinking.

What I did not absolutely like was Michelle Jean eating a seal heart and the decision to serve seal meat in Parliament Hill cafeteria. This steps were more kind of knee-jerk reaction against the protestors.

My issue is *why* they are killed, not just the*way* they are killed. Humans are allowed to overpopulate the earth but savage killing of these innocent creatures is considered ok.

However as someone mentioned earlier this issue isnt just seals. Farm animals (your chickens cows pigs ducks etc) are killed for our pleasure. Its all wrong but there are no glass walls in slaughterhouses. This is a very tranparent process (seal hunts) and thus the protest.

Perhaps those of us that feel strongly about this shouldnt be lobbying to end the seal hunt, perhaps we should be lobbying for glass walls in slaughter houses and the ability to feel the pain of any animal we put in our mouth.

this is just MY way of thinking.

Poor natives, most of them were already killed by the Europeans and now here are some indian origin canadians who immigrated here and discussing how to impose their values on Natives :D

I wonder what you will do if some other group comes to this country and want to impose their ideas on your way of life :D
