I am suppose to land in Canada in few weeks time from UK.
I got the visa last year.
Now planning to make a first trip for 3 days and come back to UK and will be going again in September.
It would be grateful, if someone clear my doubt about PROOF OF FUNDS for 1ST TIME LANDING as a PR.

Q1: Can i carry funds in GBP BRITISH POUNDS INSTEAD OF CAD$10,500 in the form of DEMAND DRAFT?
or do i need to take CAD$ in DD?

Q2: I am a single , how much funds i should carry in the form of DD & Cash, i applied for PR in 2006 at the time of applying it was $10,000+ ?

Proof of funds : How to Bring Money into Canada : You can bring money into Canada in the form of:
* Cash
* Securities in bearer form (for example, stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills)
* Negotiable instruments in bearer form (for example, bank drafts, cheques, Travellers' cheques, Money orders)

U.K.Pounds are Exchangeable and bring the sum in DD and enough Canadian Dollars for expenses anticipated here, during your stay. You can also use your credit cards for expenses.

Sum needed for a single person is about $11,100.00 CAD. or Equivalent in Pounds.

Thanks a lot for your reply. It was very useful and a big relief , because i am not going to loose anything on transaction.
I will carry a DD in UK Sterling Pounds equivalent to CAD $11,100.

I hope you can answer some of my questions again.
I am supposed to stay there for 3 days.

1.Do i need to bring all original degrees, marksheet and payslips to Canada?
2. Is it a problem if i stay for only 3 days and give my friends address for PR card
application?

The Degrees and Certificates are some of the items that you will be needing to settle down here.. So, it is desirable to have them at the time of landing. All of the items are "PROOF OF"... your accomplishments. Ans hence the list.

NO. you stay as many days as you prefer to. Make an announcement that you are here to stay for good, when they ask. After that you are fre to come and go as you please. They need an address to which they can send you your PR card and any other communication. You friends address is O.K.
