I am from the financial services industry and has 2 years work experience in Alberta. I am contemplating relocating to Toronto. Toronto being the financial capital of Canada, the advantages are quite obvious. I would request tenured members from GTA areas to please give me some feedback on the disadvantages & practical difficulties of being in GTA. This will help me in arriving at an appropriate decision. Thanks in advance.
I am here since only a month... but I can tell you one big disadvantage: high car insurance premiums.
Too hot/humid in summers, and lack of scenic places top in my list.
However, on a personal note - being in Canada's biggest financial hub (careerwise) and relatively lower real estate than the other big citiies (Calgary, Vancouver, Edmonton) surpass all the other drawbacks/disadvantages.
I agree with Febpreet ... living in the GTA , I miss the scenic charm of Halifax / Dartmouth where each evening drive would be so refreshing in the summers .

2.Expensive real estate.
3.Over populated.
4.Long traveling times - Over congested roads due to lack of alternative means of transportation.
