JSethi, I am not aware of such universities that give you such a fast track MS degree ? Where did you get this information from ?
The closest you can get is the M.Eng program of any University. But that will take you (at least 3 semesters...) and 1 semester where you have to write a project report.

MBA, I am not sure

Hi Nerd,
What are the job prospects after doing Masters in Computer Science?
Is it very difficult to get masters in C.s if you dont have an undergraduate degree in C.S( mine is Electrical & Electronics Engg)?

Hanu... it all depends on what aspect of CS you want to pursue.. I have no idea of any aspect of CS..other than Computer Vision (some aspects of which happens to be my PhD Thesis topic)..

Are you into programming or hardcore research ? or a mix of both ?
IBM should be a perfect choice for you ! Other than that, enrollment in CS / Elec engg programs have dropped this year, due to the lack of sufficient jobs here in Canada

Hi nerd,
I stumbled upon the following link while browsing through the net....
http://athena.uwindsor.ca/units/cs/CS.nsf/(WH_Content)/Graduate-Study02ATHE-5JT3RU?OpenDocument

It talks about some one year master's program in computer science. I am not sure if I understood it correctly.
I have done my Graduation with Comp Sc as major subject and have been working for the last 9 years. But now that I have a canadian PR, I want to shift to canada and enroll myself in one of the post grad courses. Havent decided if it'll be MBA or MS but whatever it is has to be fast enough.
Please help from the timeline perspective.

Cheers,
JSethi

Hi Sethi,
Where did you graduate from ? If outside Canada, then it will be extremely difficult for you to get admission for that "1-year" program that they are talking abt. YOu will be "considered deficient" and you will have to complete a set of pre-reqs before you are able to pass out. Which ultimately defeats the whole purpose.

Your best would be an MBA progarm, considering that you have work experience. Here also, you will have to write the GMAT, and then get into the program. However you can do a part time MBA (longer duration) if you are already working ( aka night school). Are you prepared for that ? Please be forewarned that MBA programs have limited funding opportunities while CS programs (generally) have some sort of funding opportunities.

Hanu thats not a "high enuff" percentage... You may get admission. BUt tell me are you looking for a course-based (no funding) Masters or a Thesis-based masters (some funding depending on ur grades)?
