Hi CDs,
I have a Blackberry Bold 9000. My little son had put wrong password 9 times and we did not know. When I tried to activate the handset, it asked me to type 'Blackberry' which I did. After that it asked me to enter password. I started entering password but I noticed that the display was showing some other characters. So I stopped. Then I connected my handset with the computer but then again it asked for the password. This time I entered the password and to my SHOCK, the handset was reset and I LOST ALL MY DATA....MY CONTACTS...MOST OF MY PICTURES ETC. Unfortunately I did not have any backup also.
Can I retrieve the data back? I don't care about the pictures but my contacts
Also there are pictures showing in the media folder but I can not open them. Seems like the picture viewer software also deleted.
Is there a way to get my data back? Please help!!
Sanjeev

Dear Sanjeev,
BlackBerry Phones are synchronized with BlackBerry Enterprise Server, if you have a corporate phone. They are programmed in such a way that if you enter incorrect password 10 times, it will wipe off all the data in the device and restart it (like a brand new phone). This is done to protect important information on phone, if it gets lost or stolen and if someone tries to break in your phone with repeated password attempts.
Unfortunately, if you do not have a back up of your phone, in my opinion, you will not be able to retrieve your old data.
Try calling the BlackBerry customer service and explain them your situation or ask any other technical guru maybe they can give you a better solution.
Please let us know if you are able to fix the problem.
^^ ditto. Your information is lost... unless you are connected to a BES.
