Hi Ritz
I agree its a personal choice. But I dont agree that the future is English/French/Arabic as one patron suggested purely due to the commercial value and helping us Indians come out of the rut and find jobs etc.
My whole idea is to start a discussion as to when will Indians start feeling proud about their languages, speak them and use them regardless of geography around the nation. We need to bridge the gap between these different languages rather than eliminate them.
How much revenue is being lost due to localization? Language constraints could prevent people from competing at a national level, prevent them from relocating, conversing etc. How do we bridge this gap for national benefit? This is a huge market for a company like rosetta stone etc. But if the govt does not show interest in this type of project this will not happen. Rather they want to encourage a project like the UUID ( like SIN, SSN number). In my opinion it is useless from a common layperson point of view.
Language is a huge issue, agreed, but if India wants to be a technological leaders then top Indian tech companies/IIT's/researchers need to get together to make this happen at some level. And all Indians need to donate liberally towards this project.
Technology can help solve this!(maybe in 10-20 years but we need to start).
is it just me or does anyone else see where this could lead to?
There is a nationwide pushback when the local language of a state is promoted in a city within that state only, you have a very high expectations on promoting Indian languages across world. Also why just Tamil added to hindi, Gujarathi is equally populor, rich and spread acorss world along with Punjabi.
Good luck with that!
Also good catch MR
You are as slick as a cult leader and cunning in your marketing ploy. You are advertising your website/product and in turn doing further market research by asking probing questions of CD's.
I think the thread poster is a bit biased towards Hindi or tamil and not for other Indian languages. Telugu is also very popular, Gujarati , Marathi and bengali.
How can you bridge all this? India does nto hv money.
Absolutely right MR. He/she could very well be upfront and advertise it in classsified if needed but sneaky ways are suspicious. Good job on keeping tab on him/her. tried any other unrelated posts to promote the product and may even be using duplicate IDs.
