His music always takes some time to sink in...the music will be liked by all after watching the movie.. Happens all the time with ARR's albums...Slow Poison!!!
The man is simply amazing.He keeps improvising all the time..None of his albums follow the traditional pallavi-charanam-pallavi style thereby giving a new feel to the songs...:

ARR giving mediocre music is not a new phenomenon. How about "Slumdog Millionaire" or "Yuvraaj" or "Yuva" for an example?

Add to this list - Guru, Raavan, and Blue. His last good music was 'Delhi 6'. After that he became a sort of factory spewing (a really bad and forgetful) music at an hourly rate. Don't know about his southern projects and latest music.
Really expecting something better and consistent from a music director of his calibre.
I believe his music has gone downhill since he resorted to the new singers. He was always at his best with Hariharan, Chitra, Kavita, Sonu Nigam, and Udit Narayan. May be a classic case of cost cutting!!

it's totally artificial and lacks any emotion, character or depth.
i find his first hindi movie Roza to be the basis for all this later work.
everything he has done since then just seems to be a rehash and re composition of all his roza tunes.
he's just producing tunes like a factory making spare parts.

Hence, grossly over-rated.
