1.Rotman-Toronto
2.Schulich-Toronto-Would definitely like to know about this B-school(Hearing some bad reviews also..even though it is top ranked)
3.Queens-(Dont prefer 1 yr MBA)-Anyways its difficult to get also
4.McMaster

Outside Ontario
5.Mcgill
6.Sauder School of Business(BC)
8.Alberta School of Business

My profile is

B.E + Post Graduate Diploma in Business administration(full time 2 yrs)

Work Experience- 3 yrs(4 yrs by the time i join program)
Work experiece primariy in Financial services-Retail Banking for 1 yr and remaining 2 yrs in Investment Banking(1 yr in Back office operations and currently in Middle office of US fixed income market)

GMAT- 660 (Q-46,V-35). AWA- 5.5

Any reason why you do not have University of Western Ontario (Ivey) which has been traditionally ranked as the top B school in Canada?

First of all I would prefer 2 year program instead of 1 yr,+ to be frank at 660 and my profile,I feel it is difficult to get IVEY.lets see...what is your opinion? Is there any chance at 660 to get into IVEY?

Hi there,

Congrats on taking a hard but sensible decision. A 660 (I'm guessing) is probably in the low to mid 80's percentile.

For a serious app with an non IIT degree, a score in the low to mid 700's (low to mid 90's) is probably more suited.

The above is not to diss you, but just my 2 cents.

On what basis do you make this statement?

For Canadian business schools, a GMAT score of 580-770 is acceptable, if you have good work experience and reference. Average score is 660.

If you want to do an MBA in Canada first see that you are

1) Below 32 when you graduate.
2) Have a brand name company in your work experience (multinational like P & G etc.)
3) Are good at networking and selling yourself.
4) After that comes the academics

If you do not have the above 3, the fourth will do nothing for you.

Hi there,

I recognise and acknowledge that we immigrants are at a disadvantage when we come here and that we need to work harder and smarter than a local (incl desis who've grown up here) to achieve the same outcome and to progress.

Therefore, I've suggested a score in the low to mid 700s' (which is higher than the average that you've quoted) to ensure that a strong and credible application is made. I think it is better to file an application with a higher score than to rely upon being \"average\". I'm also doubtful about the value of sending a repeat application next year after an earlier rejection.

I do not intend to diss anybody or to engage in flame wars. My only intention is to help (if I can :) ).

Trust this clarifies.
