Just rememberd one more thing....at least personally I saw a good demand of those small but powerfull LED flashlights (specially since there are so many outages). Again you get it there but the quality of ones over here are much better.
For housewives take cinnamon sticks (large) and cardamom seeds (peeled off)
Also take care on following points
Weight and dimension of item(easy to handle)
Avoid fragile product
Check about the custom duty in India
Don't forget to check the stamp(avoid made in China or India)
Take out the battery if it's a toy or electronic item(security check)
Avoid liquids as it may damage your other items
And last but not the least consider the like and dislike of the person to whom you are going to gift.
Thank you!

Additional points to take care:
- Keep safe distance from platform as plane arrives
- Buy chain and lock to lock your cabin luggage
- pack air pillows in the cabin luggage
- Only hire licenced coolies
- Don't wear expensive jwellery or hide it
- Keep your cash at 2-3 places and men should wear "banian" with a "chor pocket"
- If carrying lot of cash then do not keep in a briefcase, keep it in a plastic bag or "goni"
- Do not talk to strangers or take drink from them (including the purser on the flight)
- Take puri and potato sabji as they can stay without getting spoiled for relatively longer period. Don't forget to put Garlic in the food and carry onion on the side. (bhagwan bachaye passengers on surrounding seats).
- Bharat maa ko mera aur saare CDs ka pranam kehna and on the way back apne desh ki mitti leke aao (woh to waise bhi ayegi lekin thodi pack karke lao, saath me Haywards and old monk bhi lao)
- I will try to post some more travel tips as I come across or others can chime in

this is very expensive question whenever u visit backhome. apart from ticket expense u also need to spend on this useless stuff which normally they gona say what a cheap thing he bring for me.
do u guys ever think is from india did they give any gift to u when u leave backhome
one trip cost = ticket+ rent of apartment + buying stuff for people + money that u will spend on ur friend and relatives because u r NRI + bring stuff from backhome to here like masalas etc + if u dont have enough leave then paid leave + etc + etc
do u think we guys should make this? Stop all this formality guys. everything is availbale in india.
comment from friends and relatives after i left india
1) see this guy buy stuff made in china , so cheap
2) only one lipstick and was make me alergic
3) colors he brought i dont like at all
4) size of pent and shirt was totally not fit
5) almond is very normal man
