It is indeed a great advise to a person who claims to have a 9 years of S/W testing .

To become a waiter , one doesnt need to be well educated IMHO .

working in a restaurant is a dead end job, you mentioned part time but 8hour a day is fulltime ,
i will not recomend you in joining a restaurant , try gas station a step better,
also after some time it frustrating to work in a food service, and you will not get any other opportunity than food service, not even retail

Great advice :(

- so it means that when you go to a restaurent, the owner should be first taking your order, then cooking, then serve you. And once you are finished eating, he/she should bring you the bill for you to make the payment, and then finally clear your table.

No. The calculator is right.
The Calculator gives you the tax that will be deducted from your paycheque (after allowing for the personal deduction). This will indicate as to how much tax the company will deduct from his paycheque. You will get a refund based on your eligible deductions the next year after you file taxes (like charitable donations etc..).
What the OP needs to know is that the Canadian govt. also deducts CPP and EI from your paycheque. See seperate calculation table for that.
So your pay cheque will be your gross income and minus (EI, CPP, Income Tax, Health tax - if applicable deductions). Pay cheque is paid every 2 weeks. So divide your income tax by 26 or 25 to get the income tax that will be deducted in a paycheque. One bonus in Canada is taha you get 2 weeks of free money (vacation pay) after every year of work (pro rata).

Peace

i dont care who waits table,

my only advise do anything which adds value to your resume in india or canada.

I think the individual is an international student , and food serves will lead him nowhere, for pr etc.
I value all type of work, but am also aware that canadian employers are nothing less than b_____ds

who think its there birth right to exploit, new comers

Why-O-Why !!!

I jus want to know how much i will be actually getting in hand after tax deductions.

If you read his question - he did not ask if being waiter is good for him or not. Its easy to debate online - he knows what he is doing.

We are veteran here in Canada - can suggest dos n donts (atleast thats what we think) ... but we should not be assuming & start talking perfect world scenario. In Perfect World, bablu12345 would be testing software for us n not have this discussion !

Maharaj ,
For the first time I see you missing the point . I had not suggested/commented anywhere OP about his choice of profession . We all go through difficult times and have constraints to chose what comes along .
Canada has taught me enough patients as is ..LOL

not true. there is a limit to how many weeks of vacations you can get, even after many many years of service.
most private companies provide maximum of 4 weeks of vacation.
do you personally know of companies that provide 5+ weeks of vacation even after 10 years of job?
govt. corporations have 5 weeks of vacation, but you have to work many years for that and in senior positions.
this is not like Europe where 5 to 6 weeks of vacation is pretty standard.

and please don't call it free money. vacation is not free money.
you have to slog like a donkey to get even the basic 2 weeks of vacation.
