People like him are anti-immigration because they have a deep seated hatred of minorities. They are given an audience during tough economic times when the public wants to find someone to blame. Paul wants things to stay the way they were 50 years ago, when Mississauga would have been mostly farmland occupied by white families living in picturesque countryside houses. Yes, Mississauga is now busier, much more developed, and much much more diverse.

I don't know much about his past. I also believe that immigrants (especially desis) have been the economic growth engine for Canada. However, in today's context I like him because the city is really facing tough times like traffic congestion and job loss.
I would love not to screw up the new immigrants(especially desis) as they are selected by the point system who are really qualified and enjoying the best socioeconomic culture.
