My parents are over 65 and their PR is about to expire, but they have not met the requirements of staying 2 years.
They are already here for now and we are exploring legit ways to renew.
I was told by a couple of consultants that I should not apply for the renewal now as it would be rejected right away and then court appealing with big lawyers and big money would not necessarily guarantee the renewal. Instead, apply after they complete the two years in the past five years (even though the PR card is expired), that way, they already have shown the necessary commitment and it would get renewed as the Citizenship Canada only check for the obligation of two years residency.
Does anyone have any similar experience? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
PS - at the time of arrival, they were NOT given any document suggesting renewal of PR/deportation after the expiry etc.
