Hi ,
I and my husband hold a temporary work permit until next Aug !!
We are going for vacation of 3 weeks during Jan 2011. I'm just wondering if my husband could get his passport stamped at Buffalo instead of applying a TRV from India. We just want to avoid the waiting time for the visa processing.
1) Can he get his passport stamped at Buffalo or is it possible to get the stamping done at IndianConsulate in Toronto ?
2) Can I get my passport stamped although I don't have a US Visitor visa ?
3) Is it possible for both of our passports getting stamped at Buffalo ??
Any help is appreciated .
why do you think Indian consulate stamp Canadian Visa?
If your Canadian Work Permit Visa has expired, and if you have valid work permit you can mail it to Buffalo with appropriate fee, it ususally takes 2-3 weeks to get your passport with visa back

Can we appear in person at Buffalo and get the stamping done. I heard few people got the passport and visa on the same day.Is that true ?
Even though I don't possess a valid US visa, can my husband take my passport along with his passport and get them stamped at Buffalo ?
As quest said: Apply to Buffalo with letter from your company that currently you are working, copy of your permit, passport, fees and self addressed envelope. Some times it may take more than 3 weeks also holidays are approaching .... keep this in mind depending upon your travel dates.

If you have valid work permits and your TRV is expiring soon, you can try in person at buffalo. as above users said, postal application will take around 3-4 weeks and you are running short on time, there is no harm in trying in person at buffalo.

Our TRV has already expired in sept 2010 and we just got our work permit extended.
Probably we have to go in person @ Buffalo and apply for TRV
