Is there anyway to put a stop limit on the maximum data usage allowed per month. I am using Rogers internet which gives me download data size of 60 GB /per month. If I go over that, they will charge me extra rather than stopping my access to internet. The reason for a stop limit is to protect from any intruder who intercepts my wireless(Though I have very secured wireless but hackers may go beyond that) and do heavy downloads. In such scenario I will never know unless I log into my account and check the usage. This is also a serious issue and there are number of people who got affected and toast with a bill something like $2000 due to over usage.

Just curious to know how to put a stop limit on my quota?

Rogers charges $50 max for overage. I have heard many people shut their router or modem during night hours when they are not using to avoid stealing. Another way is to create WAP2 security on router (as told to me and it depends on your router).

Security is already in place. I just wanted to confirm the max. charges just in case security is compromised.

Thanks

There is a cap to this charge between $30 to $50 depending on the service provider. Check your rogers account online, you can confirm it.
