Manny Singh saab, I'll be first one to clap from Canada if Tendlya gets it !! I am his fan after all but not a mad one.
Baki mujhey kuchch nahi chahiye , thanks for considering though..
Hugo Boss ... let me refresh what you wrote ...

His deeds in coming years should fetch him the Bharat Ratna. Today he is just a professional player, a master in his field which many of us are, many of scientists, professors, businessmen are doing same kind of work in their own fields. Only difference is his profession is being shown on TV for last twenty years and more.
He has done what it takes to win this award ... even if he starts coaching or doing something for sports, there are others much qualified then him in these field who can win based on coaching or doing something for sports.
I am not confused ..... you seem to be all over the place ... anyway that it not what we are discussing here.
Now coming to the point where someone said no other sportsmen has been awarded this title ... well so far we haven't had a sportsman of this caliber in this country !!! Perhaps Dhyan Chand would qualify but he is long gone.
There is always a first time .... this award was given to Indians for along time .... then it was given to Khan Abdul Ghafar Khan. So there is room for change and if anyone qualifies, then it is Sachin. Though i must admit that he should get it when he retires, which i feel he is going to do after the world cup !!!

Late Veer Saarvarkar, Sardaar Bhagt Singh, Veer Abdul Hameed & Actor Manoj kumar , Baba Ramdev and many others deserve first such award
Exactly!! , Those are the few names to be considered first! But Indian idiology do not affirm with Athiests or Gandhi critics so Veer Savarkar and Bhagat Singh will not stand a chance, though Bhagat Singh deserves to be on currency notes along with Gandhi ji.
Abdul hamid and Captain Batra (my colleagues from defence forces) without any doubt deserve bharat ratna..in 1999, in this highly materialistic time of century captain Monaj Panday, grenadier Yogendra Yadav , rifleman Sanjay kumar and Capt Batra did for the country which no one can match.
Capt Batra first conquered the hill point and then saved fellow officer's life by giving his own.
These people cross the sanctity of being bharat ratna. It will be shame if Sachin gets it before them, but I'll still clap for him

To make it first time ever in sports arena, lets start with the world champion Vishwanath Anand who is winning one of the toughest competitions, then we check out on profile of Geet Sethi and Sachin comes next ..
All in all , answer to the topic of this post is - not yet for Sachin.
