Hi All,
Thank you febpreet for your encouragement and actively responding to my queries..I also want to go this year itself, the problem I am facing is arranging finances...I have come up with following options
1.I would go ahead and deposit the confirmation fees of 2000$,In the mean while I have asked univ for deferral as well.I would stay in India and make some money till then and also try to do CFA level 1 certification which will further boost my CV when I graduate from an MBA.
2.If I don't get a deferral then obviously i will have to arrange the finances.I cant do any thing then.
How does this idea sound?
Hey Thanks Kaniska,
Yes I am certainly eligible for OSAP.The aid estimator shows a OSAP of 18K totally.I will give you the break up of how I can arrange the fees
Fees International Student: 70,000
PR : 65,000
I have got scholarship of 5,000
So remaining is 60,0000+ Living expenses of 15,000
Living expenses can be managed out of my savings
OSAP 18,000 (If the aid estimator is showing 18K is it possible to appeal to the OSAP department and try to get more OSAP???
Balance needed to be arranged would be 42,000.Relatives will loan around 15,000.Brother to help with 5,000.So total remaining would be 22,000 $ which is around 11 LACS INR which I have to get through education loan.
But I am thinking if I defer it by one year,I will earn another 10,000 $
which may help in reducing the loan. But the gamble would be increase in FEES and may be scholarship will not be deferred...so what should I DO????
Hey Kanshika,Can you send me your number,I will call you..From where you did your MBA..how are the job opportunities etc

Hi Vivek,
If you are a PR, aren't you eligible to take OSAP? If I am not mistaken, the requirement to stay in the province for a minimum of 1 year was taken away few years ago.
Regardless, in my personal opinion, doing MBA from Canada, if you are planning to stay in Canada for awhile, is certainly a very good idea. I did it myself and I am totally satisfied, rather glad, about it.
Hope this might help you a little bit in your decision making, if its not too late already.
K
All in all I am worried about one thing..that I get a decent job and I am able to repay the loan...
Also I would like to know about Queen's vs Schulich.Since Schulich is a cheaper program like 12K lesser than Queens and since Schulich is a 2 yr program I would get a OSAP of 5K More.So net in net I would have to arrange a loan of 17 K lesser.Of course Queen's would enable me to finish MBA 1 yr faster.I have Queen's offer and for schulich I have to apply..dropping Queen's offer...So any take on the best move..I know the final decision has to be done by me..but there is no harm in taking opinion
