There are hundred other ways to conserve energy . If you dig , you may find one posted by myself long time back .

1. Your AC unit is controlled by someone but you which means it is cycled off during peak hours i.e when it is most required .

I have heard in 15 min you do not notice any difference.

HMMM....

2. Peaksaver Thermostat is wired through the main board . Main board is not meant to distribute ANY power to external source . This often overload the system and results in shorter life spam of board (Regular Tstat's run on batteries )

You mean, when life is over, we need to buy another theromostat which will not be free then. What is life of thermostat usually, and if shortened, approx what will it be ?

No it simply means that TSAT shortens the life of your main board on furnace .

3. If Tstat malfunction , you cannot call your preferred contractor to replace it .

So Powerstream will send someone, and we need to pay for it ?

Ask yourself how soon can they send a person especially if it is weekend or odd hours .

oh dear...don't waste your time.
whatever you save, if anything at all, is barely a grain of sand in the desert.
in fact i'm pretty sure this peak saver thing will be counter productive for you and the environment.
see if you keep your A/C running, soon it will reach your set temperature and then the A/C will turn off itself.
after that, if you have insulated your house well it will stay cool for several hrs. and the A/c will not start up again for some time.
but if peak saver guys keep turning off your A/C every 15 mins. the temp. will never reach your set temperature and the A/C will keep running all day.
