Reminds me of the dialogue from Sylvester Stallone 'Rocky' .
'There comes a time in every one's life when he can become immortal ...'
Reading all the ACKs and Tinkles in school time ... more than 20 yrs back , Uncle Pai has really done a stupendous job in orienting children to Indian Mythology ....... God bless his soul !!
Most of what I know of Indian Mythology is through Amar Chitra Kathas .... really a unique genre of comics meant to inform the young child .

Fido.
RIP Uncle Pai.
I still have a collection of ACK which I bought from India before migrating, knowing very well that my kids will love them. My son reads them everyday and finds them better than the local comics.
I am not sure if he was ever awarded any of the BHARAT AWARDS during his lifetime - he deserved one.
Will offer an extra prayer for his soul tonight.
Hiren.

Uncle pai brought Indian history and heritage to the doorstep of millions of families in India. At one point, i had 300 comics.
In my recent visit to BAPS temple in Brampton, i was pleasantly surprised to find ACK comics in their bookstore. I purchased several volumes just to 'walk down memory lane'.
