Agree with you Chandresh & Febpreet.
I wish government stop giving any grants as this is waste of money. Most (not all) of these immigrant helping agencies are manned by people who are good for nothing (most not all). These agencies are interested in getting SIN number so that they can claim their hafta from the government.
Edit: My above comments are for various immigrant agencies and may not be applicable to OP -ICCC (as I don't have any information about it). It may be helpful to new immigrants particularly if this is a mentoring program.
Hi Cd friends,
I had to take my wife to India and had her surgery done there due to her medical emergency, which was a emergency case, it took the specialist only 5 mins to asses her state and prescribe a surgery, but due to their whatever reasons only god knows, could only give me dates after a month.
I had the surgery done there and am back in canada, although my wife is out of her pain but still not able to walk on her own due to the damage caused by the nerve pinching prior to the surgery,
When contacted the Specialist here on my return , to get on with post surgery rehabilition , his office bluntly refused our case on grounds that we have not performed the surgery here and hence the surgeon is not interested to examine her .
I have now managed to get her on paid physiotherapy at a clinic nearby, but all the assistance , grants and help are still elusive and it appears as if everything is available if you tap the right connections.

Are there any programs similar to it in Vancouver,BC? We are moving to BC shortly.

JKundan who started the thread earleir seemed to have evaporated after facing a few real life stories and feedback. As I understand, the mentorship program offered by his click is no differfent from other pretenders. Would be pleasantly surprised to hear about the progress through. Freind of mine who sent in the inquiry did not even get a reply despite reminders. There go the best of intentions, as soon as the Govt grants and media lime light are throgh. Like some one said earlier, there is nothing quite to match the immigration business these days... no worries about competiton, they keep on coming.
