I am presently shopping around for Home insurance, and frankly I am a bit confused as to what all options to go in for!!
Is it a good idea to go in for the very basic no-frills option, such as fire protection, or should I opt for the sewerage back-up, along with other bells & whistles? It’s for a semi-detached house.
The monthly cost of insurance works out to $25 if I select the min amount of $80000 as the rebuilding cost of the house in case of fire, but goes up to $50 if I select $280000, which is the estimated rebuilding cost of the house, according to the insurance websites.

Pls advise.

I had a home insurance with my Auto insurance and they given me a discount b'cos my auto and home i took from same company.

Best way i asked your Auto insurance company that you want to add your home insurance in your policy and most of the company offers discount when you purchased both Home and Auto insurance from them.

2 cents from myside.......

In my opinion home insurance is very important for a apartment, home, townhouse because you do not know what future risk lies ahead, so it is better to 'prepare the umbrella before the rain'. Do not forget to investigate your insurance coverage.

One cost that many new home owner attempt to avoid is that insurance. Many home owner simply believe that insurance is a waste of money. Thats why then do not insure their property
