Why rely upon NRIs to hold Marches thousands of miles away from the Corruption hub? Are Indian people within India itself sleeping? Unless they wake up, it's of no use to hold rallies across seven seas.

Highly unlikely that Canadian NRIs will follow the suit. US march was not even published/telecast-ed in any of the mainstream Indian news media.

Let's first join hands against Babu culture and their slacking attitude here in Indian Consulates. This is right in our face.

Weired! Suddenly everyone woken up after the Egyptian uprising. It's a long way to go for any Middle-Eastern and Asian countries to cough up a deepest rooted corruption from it's shores.

'mcg7', I am aware of what's going on in India each minute.

Bharat Swabhimaan Aandolan, for what I gathered is just a few speeches and a big convoy by Ramdev, the Yoga Guru. While I am a big follower of Baba Ramdev and truly believe in his philosophies pertain to Yoga and the life per se, he does indulge in these fame inducers from time to time.

Alas! It has nothing to do with general mass movement so far. At least I don't see it yet. Unless, a common man comes out in droves any such Swabhiman Andolans are highly unlikely to bear any fruit. Indian political, judicial, babudom, police, bureaucracy doesn't have any hope. The system needs a complete 360 degrees overhauling. Unless the system is created where we won't have any more illiterate politicians and public servants, even mass movements are a waste. Things just seem to repeat themselves.

Furthermore, it has everything to do with Egyptian styled movement. Why out of a sudden every nation full of tyrants is waking up? However, what would happen in Egypt is still to be seen, and how productive was it other than the ousting of Husn Mubarak.

Also, there was only one Gandhi, one Martin Luther King, and one Mandela. We don't have any such leaders exist now.

Very true said,
It will change, It will take time, BUT I can see the changing future.
There are many negative thinking people (although highly educated) in this forum itself, so how could people in smallest village of India can understand what is going on?
'Aam aadmi' in India relies on newspapper, TV & radio news. Mainstream news media are backed by spnsoring MNCs and corrupt politicians.. and therefore.. they do not telecast/publish such a huge events which will open eys of 'aam aadmi' in India.
Any historical movement starts with 'few speeches'
Aastha is the only channel that covers most Bharat swabhiman programs.
These people are openly challanging Sonia Gandhi, MMS, Digvijay Singh with name calling....
I also agree that, 'Aam aadmi' is just being selfish and is pretending to be ignorant of what is going on...They like to discuss about the corruptions scandals with their friends & familly, BUT don't want to act anything against it.
They will wake up and this will change... just keep your eyes open...

I also agree that the dandi march that is happening in US should have happend in India. Obama has no interest in what is happening with India.

LOL. How many of u live in india? None? At least I live here in India and aware of what is going on. Agreed. Only Aastha covers Baba Ramdev. I like what he says. Contributed financially also. But.....by the time change comes, if at all, he may be dead. I am talking abt the time it takes. Aam aadmi is busy in theri own world. Youth is caught up with cell phone and internet chat rooms.

Being positive is different from being realistic. BTW, no one heard of this dandi march in USA. And no one cares abt it. Obama does not care.

Who thinks that BJP is clean? Has anyone heard abt the scams in Karnataka and other BJP ruled states? There are number of them. CONgress bashers dont want to see this. All political parties are same.

How many MNC products have you boycott in your routine life?
This is what you atleast you can do in your part.

How many people you have educated or have encouraged to follow on what baba says?
"Be the change you want to see in the world" -MKG
It can not happen over night.
Youth is tought to believe "west is best". They keep adopting western cultures (mostly bad). There are many good thing that need to be adopted from western culture but those are untouched.
Parents feel proud when kids talk in English and forgetting own culture/language.

Aam aadmi and youth has forgotten the sacrifices our grandfathers and freedom fighters had made for India's freedom and for their kids future which they are enjoying now. It may be too late when they will realize this fact. Or the coming generations will pay for it.

It is so obvious from the postings here that most of you are young or left India many years back. India did have its revolution, not Egypt type but Indian type. Jay Prakash Narayan (Popularly known as JP) , at the time of emergency had started a great movement. He got his inspiration from Navnirman agitation in Gujarat, which culminated in ouster of corrupt CM of Congress. Cost: More than 300 students died. However, Indira destroyed JP’s health during the emergency days when he was jailed and unfortunately, he died soon after his release before he can provide guidance and direction to the country. JP movement was, after his demise, hijacked by Laloo (Yes, he is product of that movement) kind of people and nadir reached with V.P. Singh dividing country on caste lines. The damage inflicted by V.P. Singh was immense and I guess India would have the suffering for quite a few years more.

In last 100 years, it is Gujarat that has provided leadership and guided the country. Gandhiji and Sardar Patel were the stars. Now also Narendra Modi has established his credentials as very efficient CEO. If Indians were to listen to him, things would change very rapidly. Unfortunately, young generation in India are literate but “uneducated” (Yes, there is a hell of difference in being literate and educated) as they have been brought up under |Nehruvian education system. I regularly interact with young generation as I am still in contact with quite a few young people as I was a guest lecturer with three different prestigious institutions in India before I migrated to Canada. Young Indians get high on Cricket and Bollywood movies. Their span of general knowledge and desire to obtain extra curriculum knowledge is extremely limited. Young people can bring a change but sadly Indian Youth lacks the vision. Before you guys start criticizing me, let me make it clear that it is not that Indian Youth has no talent. In a country of billion people, quite a few are very smart and brilliant people and it conforms law of averages. What I want to emphasize is that a very huge number are extremely limited in their vision and knowledge. They are incapable of articulating their views on diverse subjects like political system, economics or religion. However, I DO believe that revolution would happen but only after India would have huge problems which should and would surface in 10 years when the chickens come home to roost, that is to say when India;s foreign debt would be huge and unserviceable like Greece or Ireland. That is when MMS and Sonia would have fled the country after milking it dry or would be dead. I guess that would be perhaps too late.

At the cost of digressing from the subject, I would like to state here the difference between acting smart and acting like moron. Gaddafi and Mubarak looted their nations and stashed all their wealth in foreign countries. Now with a stroke of a pen, Western countries have appropriated their wealth. These morons killed and looted their countrymen and now other countries would enjoy the fruits. I think it would happen to MMS and Sonia. I hope God gives them some morality and sense of judgement.

Again how many of u live in India? Do u really know what exactly is happening? No, u don’t.

Has not some BJP netas stashed their money abroad? If u think its not the case, then u should not be commenting on politics. N. Modi may be an honest man, I think he is. Not all others are like him.

Why boycott MNC products? Not sure what this has to do with the discussion.

I have to agree with Nightmare on the present day college youth. Majority are in their own world of mobile phones, SMS and internet. Good for the netas so that these youth don’t bother to vote, illiterate vote for money and netas win! It’s a win-win situation for the netas.
