I have submitted sponsorship application for my parents in December 2002. They got a letter from New Delhi saying that it will take another three years. This is ridiculous. And in the meantime, I want to bring them in visit visa to canada. Is it possible? I heard from my friends that once you have applied for PR then I can't bring my parents in visit visa. Is that true? I havn't read anything like that in any web site.I am canadian citizen. If anyone knows answer for this, please get back to me. Thanks in advance.

no its not true... even with pr application pending you may apply for a visit visa... as long as your parents can demonstrate that they will return back after their visit and will not stay over illigally... thats a little difficult to do with a pr application pending, but visa officer is required to evaluate visit application not withstanding... its called dual intent and its recognized under the law...
if they have previous travel to canada without any problem then it becomes easier...
